History: The 1958 Colorado Buffaloes Baseball team did not have the best of seasons, finishing with a 7-19 record. There were a few bright spots besides their awesome looking uniforms: Catcher Leon Shell led the team in batting with a .311 average, and on May 18, 1958, Carroll Hardy became the first former Buffaloes player to hit a major league home run as a member of the Cleveland Indians - an eleventh inning walk off. As of today, the University of Colorado does not field a Division I baseball team having cut the program in the mid-1980's with the institution of Title IX. They do however, have a club team.
